wholewheat cookies

Remember the times when you feel like eating something warm with your evening hot tea but don’t want the hassle of baking one big batch? Or Sometimes there are not enough ingredients at home!

Well, not to worry, as there is always a solution to every problem. I will be sharing with you the easiest recipe that I have put together which will result in only 1 big giant cookie that is just perfect for a single person. At the least, it will take a really handful of ingredients. Voila! You will have freshly baked cookies in no time. Not only this, we will make it a healthy version so you don’t feel guilty after relishing the warm wholewheat cookie. It is also proven that if you eat in moderation, then you can have a balanced meal. So bake a single cookie, eat a single cookie.

Most of the recipes that I have browsed online are generally with egg yolk. We personally try to avoid using eggs for single-serving cookies to avoid eggs being wasted. Scroll down to through the ingredients for eggless wholewheat cookie.

What are the basic ingredients for a single serving wholewheat cookie?

1 tbsp of butter (You can use any butter you like)

1 tbsp of brown sugar (You can add a little bit more if you like really sweet)

¼ tsp of vanilla extract

2 tbsp of wholewheat flour (Since its really less, you can get away without sieving)

⅛ tsp baking soda

Pinch of salt (add only if you are using unsalted butter)

Now, these ingredients will make you a sugar cookie with vanilla flavor. Let’s see the steps how we make it, then we will go through 2 more easily available ingredients in every kitchen to add more flavors.

The recipe is effortless and can be ready in no-time. Preparation time is literally 5 mins and baking is 15 mins (It may vary depending on the oven settings).

How do we make a single serving wholewheat cookie?

  1. The first and the most important step which people generally tend to ignore is to preheat your oven at 160deg Celsius.
  2. In a small bowl or even a mug, put the butter, sugar and vanilla essence. Mix it properly.  Tip: Try to use butter at room temperature. It helps to make the cookie soft.
  3. Add all the dry ingredients (wholewheat flour, baking soda, salt) to the mix. Now mix it well until everything is in the proper blend and no dry flour is left in the container.
  4. You may have to add a few drops of milk if the mix doesn’t bind.
  5. Now, your dough is ready.
  6. Flatten slightly with your fingers on butter paper.
  7. Put it in the oven and bake it for 12-15 mins for 160deg.

If you like your cookie soft and gooey, eat it warm from the oven. If you like your cookie with a little bit of crunch, let it cool completely.

What are two more variations of cookies?

Would you like to add a bit of flavor to your sugar eggless wholewheat cookies? We will make oats chocolate wholewheat cookies. As the name says, the first ingredient I am going to use is oats which is also a healthy option. Oats is one of the things available in every kitchen. So add just 1 tbsp of rolled oats along with your dry ingredients. If you have any chocolate in your fridge, chop it into little pieces, add it to the mix. That’s it! Your chocolate oats wholewheat cookie is ready to be served.

Another easily available ingredient that you can use for a new flavor is any kind of nuts – walnuts, almonds or peanuts. Just add it with dry ingredients and taste the difference.
